Into the Past

For the past week, I was with a group of people in Louisiana dismantling an abandoned crumbling down school house in order to repurpose its beautiful old materials. We hauled off six and a half thousand bricks in a couple of days and stumbled across some amazing finds like a complete encyclopedia set from the early 50s, vintage vinyls, and a cabinet filled with weather-worn report cards from as early as 1913 that still had pictures of each student attached.

My man Nathan has a new tie. It only took about 20 minutes to make.

Zoo Day

A friend of ours gave us four free tickets to the Houston Zoo. We had a great time, but I honestly cannot stand those places.  The animals are in such pitiful states.  It's not that the accommodations are bad - it is just that there is a significant difference between an elephant in a one acre yard versus one with free reign of the African Savannah.  I would rather never see the animals except in National Geographic pictures than to see them like this.  But, enough of that save the world crap...here are some pictures I took courtesy of my vintage 35mm Pentax.
